As a licensed agent, certified design consultant, and seasoned stager, she guides clients with an eye for both beauty and value. Her 23-year career in corporate partnerships honed her ability to see the bigger picture—ensuring every home is presented and designed to its fullest potential.
Sarah Hubacher Johnson

Urban Cottage Design is proud to introduce the services of Interiors by SHJ Founder and Creative Director, Sarah Hubacher Johnson. A lifelong Northern Virginian, Sarah brings a deep sense of place, community, and elegance to her interior design work. With a B.A. from NC State and a J.D. from West Virginia University College of Law, her unique path sharpened both her meticulous attention to detail and her ability to approach every project with purpose and polish. Known not only for her discerning eye but also for her effortless beauty and impeccable personal style, Sarah brings warmth, sophistication, and a designer’s intuition to every space she touches. Sarah is a proud wife, mom of two girls, and devoted dog mom to two golden retrievers and one rotten beagle. She finds inspiration in the rhythm of everyday life and the joy of a well-loved home. Her design philosophy is rooted in authenticity and function, creating interiors that are as livable as they are striking. With an innate talent for layering texture, color, and form, Sarah designs spaces that feel curated, timeless, and deeply personal.
